On Main Street in Shallotte, North Carolina, there stands a clock.

It has a face. It has hands. It has Roman numerals. And every single day, without complaint or fanfare, it tells the time to anyone who happens to be looking at it.

That's the whole thing. That's what it does.

We felt it deserved a monument, so we made one out of cotton.

This design is an original illustration in the style of a 19th-century newspaper engraving - the clock, the palmetto, the fence, the whole quiet stretch of Main Street rendered in fine black linework, crowned with a headline no reasonable person could argue with. If you've driven US-17 toward the beach and seen a certain billboard, you already understand. If you haven't, it's still a very nice picture of a clock.
